Relatives of young man who died in San Pedro de Macorís demand justice in front of Alofoke Media Group
In an act of desperation and a search for answers, the relatives of 19-year-old Raynder Andrés Jiménez appeared at the Alofoke Media Group facilities. With signs and slogans, the loved ones of the deceased young man made an urgent call to the Dominican authorities to expedite the investigations and clarify the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.
The incident that cost Jiménez his life occurred during the early hours of last September 25th on the Eastern Highway, as it passed through San Pedro de Macorís. After the event, the young man was rushed to a health center, where he remained in intensive care for three days due to the severity of his injuries. Sadly, on September 28th, the young man lost his battle for life.

According to the testimony of the relatives, Raynder was traveling in the company of another person at the time of the attack. According to the version offered by the survivor, both were returning from the community of Consuelo and decided to use the highway to shorten the journey.
The victim’s brother reported that, while they were traveling through the area, they were intercepted by several individuals who emerged from a wooded area. According to this account, the attackers struck Raynder with a blunt object, causing his fatal injuries, while his companion remained unharmed.

Demand for a thorough investigation
Raynder Jiménez’s family has expressed deep concern regarding what they consider a lack of progress in the investigative process. Among their main complaints, they point out that they have not received official information on the progress of the case and question the apparent delay in the collection of evidence, specifically in the review of security cameras that could shed light on the identity of the attackers.
