Public Health launches campaign against dengue in Monseñor Nouel
The Provincial Directorate of Public Health of Monseñor Nouel formally launched the campaign “LET’S BEAT DENGUE!”, a strategic initiative developed on México Street in Bonao with the purpose of intensifying preventive measures and public education against this mosquito-borne disease.
The event was led by the provincial Health director, Dr. José Báez, who was accompanied by the director of CORAMON, César Cerda, and the head of the Civil Defense, Juan Carlos Velásquez. The day highlighted the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to eradicate Aedes aegypti mosquito breeding sites throughout the province.
Preventive actions and citizen commitment
The Monseñor Nouel DPS maintains an active schedule of operations that include constant fumigation in various sectors and direct guidance to families. The main focus is to teach the population the correct handling of water storage containers and the identification of mosquito breeding sites.
Dengue prevention requires the active participation of the citizenry, especially through the elimination of containers where water can accumulate and become mosquito breeding grounds.

Dr. Báez made an emphatic appeal to the residents of the province to allow the brigade members access to their homes, thus facilitating the guidance and control efforts carried out by the Public Health teams.
