Security operation in Sánchez Ramírez results in multiple arrests and seizures

Authorities in the Sánchez Ramírez province carried out an extensive prevention and security operation during the night of last Saturday, September 12. The initiative, designed to strengthen public order and combat crime, covered various municipalities, districts, and strategic sectors of the area.

As a result of these actions coordinated by the Joint Task Force, 21 Haitian citizens who were in an irregular migratory status were detained, along with seven Dominican citizens. The detained individuals were transferred to the Cotuí headquarters for the corresponding legal purposes.

Results of the police deployment

The deployment involved the participation of agents from the National Police, DICRIM, DINTEL, the DNCD, DIGESETT, and Anti-Noise units, under the direction of Colonel William Batista Castillo, commander of Operational Department I, and Colonel Milanés Martínez, head of Criminal Investigations. The results of the operation include the following points:

  • Retention of 18 motorcycles for various traffic law violations.
  • Intervention of four locations identified as illicit substance sales centers.
  • Seizure of four bladed weapons and one homemade firearm, the latter abandoned by a suspect who managed to evade authorities.
  • Confiscation of various equipment, including a slot machine, a hookah, and several sound systems, among them two “kitipo” devices and two subwoofers located in a commercial establishment.

The day concluded without major incidents, reaffirming the commitment of law enforcement to the fight against crime and the preservation of public safety throughout the province.
