Tactical deployment in Azua: Police intensify search for individual involved in assault
The National Police has launched a major security operation in the province of Azua with the goal of capturing a man identified as the alleged perpetrator of the attempted robbery of a remittance branch located in the municipality of Sabana Yegua.
Since this Friday afternoon, elite Special Operations (SWAT) units have joined the search efforts, working in close collaboration with agents from the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM) and the Preventive Police force to locate the suspect.
Air and ground operation
The authorities have coordinated a comprehensive deployment that covers both the mountainous territory and the surrounding strategic areas. According to the details provided by the security forces, the operation includes the following resources:
- Air support via a Dominican Republic Air Force helicopter.
- Deployment of SWAT tactical units at critical points.
- Intensive ground tracking in the Hatillo and Palmar de Ocoa areas.
The National Police maintains its units deployed in the area while search efforts continue regarding the attempted assault recorded in Sabana Yegua, with the goal of locating and capturing the individual as soon as possible.
Simultaneously, various police teams have expanded the search perimeter by land, maintaining rigorous control at access points in the province. The law enforcement institution reiterates that the operation will remain active until the suspect is apprehended and the events that occurred at the remittance establishment are fully clarified.
