Possible personal feuds investigated following shooting in Boca Chica

The National Police is advancing in the investigations regarding the violent incident that occurred last Saturday afternoon in the Los Coquitos sector, Boca Chica municipality, where a shooting attack left two people dead and five injured. Authorities have focused part of their inquiries on old personal grudges that allegedly began approximately a year ago between those involved.

Although investigators are working to determine the exact motive for the attack, initial reports suggest that there were prior conflicts. The event has shocked the community, especially due to the connection of one of the fatal victims to the urban music scene.

Victim details

The attack claimed the lives of two young men, identified by the authorities as:

  • Jonathan Villanueva, known as “Cotuí”, 26 years old.
  • Jesús Alexis Delgado Ortiz, known artistically as “Diddy Glow”, 31 years old.

Likewise, five more people were injured during the shooting. They are Alexis José Castro Guzmán, Manuel Alberto Perdomo Báez, Javier Reyes, Alver Ozuna Beato, and Ismael Noboa Mejía, whose ages range between 21 and 32 years old.

The authorities continue to collect evidence and testimonies to clarify the precise circumstances in which the confrontation originated and to locate those responsible.

Event dynamics

According to preliminary reports, the attackers arrived at the scene in a vehicle, from which they opened fire on the group of people who were in the area. After carrying out the attack, the individuals fled the scene quickly in the same car.

The incident caused moments of extreme panic among the residents of the area. Various videos shared on digital platforms captured the exact moment when children and adults ran in terror seeking shelter while the detonations were heard.

The National Police maintains an active tracking operation to identify and capture those responsible, with the firm purpose of bringing them before the Public Prosecutor’s Office and applying the full weight of the law for this violent act.
