The Dominican Patriotic Pole presents an agenda of reforms and demands to the Government
The Dominican Patriotic Pole (PPD) has made public a series of strategic proposals addressed to President Luis Abinader, with the aim of transforming various key sectors of the nation. Through an official document, the organization proposed a roadmap that ranges from salary adjustments to profound changes in citizen security and national sovereignty.
Economic and social demands
One of the central points of the proposal is a 30% salary increase, intended for public servants, free trade zone workers, and private sector employees. According to the PPD, this measure is urgent to mitigate the impact of the cost of living and balance the distribution of the benefits of economic growth, which they believe has not reached lower-income classes equitably.
In the agricultural sector, the organization advocated for greater technological and financial support for local producers, in order to strengthen food security and combat inflation. As an innovative solution, they proposed the creation of provincial joint ventures, where the State, the private sector, and workers collaborate so that the latter participate as shareholders.
Sovereignty and Security
Regarding sovereignty, the PPD requested that the Executive cancel permits for the installation of foreign military camps and the withdrawal of Haitian camps, arguing the need to protect the country’s territorial integrity.
The Patriotic Pole also proposed relaunching a plan to fight administrative corruption through audits in State institutions, including the Presidency of the Republic, the Legislative Branch, the Judicial Branch, the Armed Forces, and the Chamber of Accounts.
Institutional reforms and education
- Security: The group described the current police reform as a failure and proposed the dismantling of the institution to create a new body composed of professionals and students committed to human rights. Likewise, they demanded a frontal fight against drug trafficking and the confiscation of illicit assets.
- Education: A call was made to foster critical and analytical training, with greater emphasis on technological and human development.
The PPD expressed its support for the reform processes promoted by the president, urging their execution to be accelerated during the two remaining years of his administration. Finally, the organization extended its congratulations to President Abinader and the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, for the achievements obtained by the Dominican delegation in the recent Central American and Caribbean Games.
