LIDOM announces revolutionary technological update for the 2026-27 season

The Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) is preparing to raise the standard of its upcoming tournament. With an eye toward the 2026-27 season, the organization has confirmed the implementation of various technological tools designed to optimize administrative operations and enrich the experience of winter baseball fans.

Lidom 1.0: The new digital face of the tournament

The league president, Vitelio Mejía, highlighted that the launch of the official “Lidom 1.0” application will mark a turning point in the interaction with the fans. Available starting November 15th on the App Store and Google Play digital stores, this platform will centralize all information about the championship:

  • Real-time play-by-play results and tracking.
  • Match schedule and updated standings table.
  • Detailed statistics, player profiles, and boxscores.
  • Instant news and leaders in various offensive and pitching categories.

These new features will make life easier, and enhance the enjoyment and pleasure of our baseball fans.

Innovation in the field and offices

Modernization is not limited to the digital interface. LIDOM will introduce an automated roster system, an intelligent tool that will validate player registrations in real time. This software will automatically reject any registration that does not comply with current regulations, eliminating administrative errors and streamlining team management.

Likewise, the Automated Ball-Strike System (ABS), supported by Hawk-Eye technology, will be a reality. This system will include a challenge mechanism where each team will have two initial opportunities per game. If the challenge is successful, the team will retain its right to challenge again, adding an additional opportunity in case of reaching extra innings.

Preparations for the start of the season

To ensure the success of the ABS system, Major League experts will work on the necessary technical adjustments at the Julián Javier and Francisco Micheli stadiums. This entire technological deployment will serve as a prelude to the start of the action on the diamond, scheduled for next October 16th.

The regular phase of the tournament is scheduled to extend until December 23rd, thus consolidating a season that promises to be the most advanced and efficient in the history of Dominican baseball.
