Omayra Aybar will lead the Dominican delegation at the 2026 World Chess Olympiad
National Chess Master, Omayra Aybar, has been appointed as head of the delegation that will represent the Dominican Republic at the 46th World Chess Olympiad, an event that will be hosted in the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Aybar will be in charge of coordinating and accompanying the Dominican athletes at this prestigious event of the science of sport.
The national team will feature a representation of ten chess players, divided equally between the Open and Women’s categories. These players will compete against the best exponents from various federations and world powers, seeking to hold the tricolor flag high.
