Moca FC strengthens its squad with international talent for the 2026-2027 season

Moca Fútbol Club has made a statement in the transfer market by announcing the addition of its first four foreign reinforcements. With the goal of establishing itself as one of the main protagonists of the Dominican Football League (LDF), the black-and-yellow team is betting on a mix of experience and dynamism to face the new structure of the national championship.

New faces for the aurinegro project

The Moca FC board has confirmed the arrival of players with extensive experience in competitive leagues, who will be placed under the command of head coach Jean Carlos Guell:

  • Jhoaho Rivelino Hinestroza (Colombia): A high-caliber forward with a past at renowned clubs such as Once Caldas, Atlético Nacional, and América de Cali.
  • Éder Balanta Arévalo (Colombia): A defensive midfielder who arrives to provide balance after his time at Atlético FC and Deportivo Pasto.
  • Kevin Saucedo (Colombia): A center-back with a solid international career, having played for Botafogo in Brazil, Real Monarchs in the United States, and the youth categories of the Colombia National Team.
  • Jorge Gastón Comas (Argentina): A creative midfielder with previous experience in the LDF and stints in Argentine and Bolivian soccer, which guarantees a quick adaptation to the local tournament.

A new format to raise the level of Dominican soccer

The LDF is preparing for a significant change in its calendar, implementing an Apertura and Clausura tournament format. This modality will feature the participation of eight clubs, which will play a round-robin regular season with 14 matches each. The four best-positioned teams in the table will qualify for the semifinal phase.

With this new system, each team will be guaranteed 28 matches in the season, raising the level of competition and offering greater continuity to Dominican professional soccer.

The official calendar establishes that the Apertura Tournament will take place from August 21 to December 6, 2026, while the Clausura will take place between January 9 and April 17, 2027.

The debut at Moca 85

Moca FC will begin its journey this Friday, August 21, at the Moca 85 stadium. The black-and-gold fans hope to see their team display offensive and competitive soccer from the very first matchday, consolidating the work done during the preseason under Guell’s leadership and reaffirming their commitment to the development of soccer in the Dominican Republic.
