Moca FC strengthens its squad with international talent for the 2026-2027 season

Moca Football Club has made a statement in the transfer market by announcing the addition of its first four foreign reinforcements. The aurinegro team is preparing with ambition to face the upcoming season of the Dominican Football League (LDF), which arrives with a renewed structure and high expectations for national soccer.

New faces in the aurinegro team

The Moca management has opted for experience and technical quality to strengthen all its lines. The new members of the squad are:

  • Jhoaho Rivelino Hinestroza (Colombia): A forward with experience in renowned clubs such as Once Caldas, Atlético Nacional, and América de Cali.
  • Éder Balanta Arévalo (Colombia): A defensive midfielder who arrives after his time with Atlético FC and Deportivo Pasto.
  • Kevin Saucedo (Colombia): A central defender with an extensive international career, having played for Real Monarchs in the United States, Botafogo in Brazil, Deportivo Cali, Jaguares FC, Millonarios U20, and with experience in the Colombia U-20 National Team.
  • Jorge Gastón Comas (Argentina): A midfielder with a background in Bolivian and Argentine soccer, who also knows the local terrain well after his previous experience in the LDF with Salcedo FC.

The aurinegro team faces this new challenge with a reinforced squad and its sights set on being a protagonist from the very first match, under the technical direction of Jean Carlos Guell.

A new format for the LDF

The Dominican Soccer League evolves for the 2026-2027 season, implementing a two-tournament format: Apertura and Clausura. This change seeks to raise the competitive level and provide greater continuity to the participating clubs.

  • Structure: Eight teams will compete in a round-robin regular season system, totaling 14 matches per club in each tournament. The top four finishers will advance to the semifinal phase.
  • Schedule: The Apertura Tournament is scheduled from August 21 to December 6, 2026, while the Clausura will take place from January 9 to April 17, 2027.
  • Impact: With this schedule, each team will play a total of 28 matches in the season, ensuring greater exposure and development of professional talent.

Imminent debut at Moca 85

Moca FC will begin its journey in this new competition format this Friday, August 21st. The Moca 85 stadium will be the venue where the aurinegro team will seek to secure its first three points, supported by its fans and with the clear goal of positioning itself as one of the top title contenders from the start of the tournament.
