MIVED accelerates urban transformation in Los Praditos with millionaire investment
The Minister of Housing and Buildings (MIVED), Jean Luis Rodríguez, oversaw this Thursday the progress of the renovation and improvement works in the Los Praditos sector, in the National District. This intervention, which has an investment of over RD$130 million, aims to raise the quality of life of the residents and improve the road integration of the community with the rest of the capital.
During the tour, the authorities confirmed that the project is in an advanced stage, with the electrical wiring already completed and technical teams currently focused on adapting the storm drains to optimize the rainwater drainage system.
Commitment to the capital’s infrastructure
Rodríguez emphasized that the current administration’s priority is to identify and expedite ongoing projects to ensure their prompt delivery to the public. The official stressed that this intervention is fundamental to improving urban mobility in a strategic area of Greater Santo Domingo.
Our goal at MIVED is to expedite, unblock, and complete projects like this one in Los Praditos to soon deliver it alongside President Luis Abinader.

Los Praditos Connects project details
The initiative, called Los Praditos Connects, covers streets 6, 9, and 11 of the sector and includes a comprehensive intervention that transforms both the roads and the social environment. Among the work carried out, the following stand out:
- Earthworks, subbase construction, and paving.
- Drainage improvements, curbs, and road signage.
- Installation of LED lighting for increased safety.
- Creation of green areas, linear parks, and children’s play areas.
- Incorporation of street furniture, murals, and public parking.
Legislators José Caraballo and Liz Mieses, who accompanied the minister, highlighted the positive impact this project will have, emphasizing that it will not only facilitate vehicular traffic but also provide community members with dignified and safe public spaces for family recreation.
The MIVED maintains its commitment to continue working hand in hand with the residents of the area, ensuring that the works meet the necessary standards to turn Los Praditos into a more organized, accessible, and modern environment.
