Wester de Jesús Peña surrenders to authorities, wanted for attempted homicide in La Vega

The National Police confirmed that 23-year-old Wester de Jesús Peña, known in criminal circles as Wester, voluntarily turned himself in to the authorities accompanied by his legal representative to answer for the charges brought against him.

The young man was being actively sought by security forces after being named in a judicial arrest warrant, under number 2026-AJ0069212. According to official reports, he is directly linked to crimes of criminal association and attempted homicide.

Details of the event in La Vega

The facts that motivate this investigation date back to May 1, 2026, when a violent incident occurred in the Nibaje sector, located in the province of La Vega. In said event, Carlos Manuel Capellán, nicknamed Chito, was injured.

The detainee has been placed under the immediate custody of the competent authorities and will be transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to face the corresponding judicial process for the charges indicated.

The police force continues its investigations to clarify the details of this case, while the accused awaits the coercive measures that will be dictated by an investigating judge in the coming days.
