LIDOM drives the modernization of Dominican baseball with cutting-edge technology for the 2026-27 season

The Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) is preparing for a historic transformation. With the firm purpose of raising operational standards and enriching the fan experience, the winter circuit’s board of directors has announced the integration of state-of-the-art technological tools that will mark a turning point in the 2026-27 tournament.

Vitelio Mejía, president of the entity, confirmed that the package of innovations includes the deployment of the official “Lidom 1.0” application, an automated system for roster management, and the long-awaited implementation of the Automated Balls and Strikes (ABS) system.

Total connectivity: The new Lidom 1.0 App

Starting November 15, baseball fans will be able to download the new official application from the App Store and Google Play. This platform will centralize all relevant information, including:

  • Real-time results and play-by-play tracking.
  • Updated schedules, standings, and detailed statistics.
  • Comprehensive player and team profiles.
  • Immediate access to news and leaders in offensive and pitching categories.

These new features will make life, enjoyment, and pleasure easier for the fans of our baseball.

Precision and agility in the field and the office

Modernization also reaches the administrative and officiating aspects. The new automated roster system will allow for instant player validation, automatically rejecting any registration that fails to comply with league regulations, which ensures transparency and speed in the processes.

On the other hand, the Automated Ball-Strike System (ABS), supported by Hawk-Eye technology, will introduce a challenge format. Each team will have two challenge opportunities per game; if the challenge is successful, the team will retain their turn, adding an additional challenge in case of reaching extra innings.

To ensure the success of this implementation, Major League specialists will conduct technical evaluations at the Julián Javier and Francisco Micheli stadiums, adapting the infrastructures to the necessary technological requirements.

All set for October 16th

The countdown for the 2026-27 tournament has already begun. The championship is scheduled to open on October 16 with a three-game day, with the regular season extending until December 23. These changes reaffirm LIDOM’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the Dominican Republic’s favorite sport.
