Jhon Arias deploys humanitarian aid after earthquake in Chocó
Colombian soccer player Jhon Arias has demonstrated his social commitment by leading a relief initiative for those affected by the recent earthquake that shook Colombia. The midfielder, currently a star in Brazilian soccer, provided a private aircraft to transport specialized medical personnel and essential supplies directly to Quibdó, his hometown and one of the areas most impacted by the natural phenomenon.
The earthquake, which reached a magnitude of 7.4 according to reports from the Colombian Geological Service, had its epicenter in the municipality of San José del Palmar, in the department of Chocó, leaving a trail of destruction in homes and infrastructure throughout much of the center and west of the country.
A joint effort for solidarity
Together with his wife, Alejandra Ayala, who is also a native of the affected region, the 28-year-old player has led these support actions to mitigate the crisis facing the inhabitants of Chocó. The couple has not only facilitated the transport of medical assistance, but has also channeled efforts to raise funds.
