Tigres del Licey define their starting rotation for a key week in LIDOM
The Tigres del Licey have made official their starting pitching staff for the upcoming matchups of the 2026-27 season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). The blue team seeks to consolidate its dominance on the mound with a rotation led by arms with international experience and proven talent in winter baseball.
The activity for the national champions begins this Tuesday, October 20, at the Julián Javier stadium, where they will face the Gigantes del Cibao. The American right-hander Daniel Martínez has been chosen to take the mound, following a brilliant season in the Mexican Baseball League, where he led the circuit with a 1.94 ERA.
Star pitchers lead the blue staff
- Wednesday 21st: Luis Gil will take the mound against the Toros del Este in La Romana. The pitcher is coming off being named American League Rookie of the Year after a spectacular 15-win campaign with the New York Yankees.
- Friday 23rd: Adonis Medina will face the Estrellas Orientales in San Pedro de Macorís. Medina demonstrated his great form in his debut, recording nine strikeouts in five innings of work.
- Saturday 24th: Cuban Vladimir Gutiérrez will be in charge of stopping the Águilas Cibaeñas at Cibao Stadium, looking to redeem himself after his last outing.
The Tigres del Licey management maintains flexibility in their pitching, leaving the starter for the end of the week, Sunday the 25th, pending, when they will host the Águilas Cibaeñas again at the Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal.
In addition to these adjustments, the team continues to strengthen its roster with the confirmed integration of key figures such as Ronny Mauricio and Miguel Andújar for the month of November, who will join the young talent already proving their worth on the field under the direction of the blue coaching staff.
