Alberto Rodríguez, of the Águilas Cibaeñas, Out of Danger After Impact to the Face
Santo Domingo – Águilas Cibaeñas outfielder Alberto Rodríguez is stable and out of danger after being hit by a ball in the face during the game against the Gigantes del Cibao on Tuesday, January 6th.
The incident occurred in the second inning of the game. Rodríguez hit a single to left field and, during the attempt to steal second base, received the impact on his right cheekbone, which required his immediate exit from the game.
The medical team of the Águilas Cibaeñas reported that, after evaluation, no facial fractures were detected. He underwent a suture on his right cheekbone and received the appropriate treatment.
After being attended to at the stadium, Rodríguez was transferred for observation and medical follow-up. The club has indicated that the player remains stable and is following the recovery protocol.
The Águilas Cibaeñas reported that there is still no scheduled date for their return to the field, depending on the evolution of the inflammation and the healing process.
