Leonel Fernández speaks out on the electoral landscape and the figure of Omar Fernández
The former President of the Republic and leader of the Fuerza del Pueblo, Leonel Fernández, has distanced himself from the speculations linking his son, Omar Fernández, to a possible presidential candidacy, accompanied by the prominent communicator and businessman Santiago Matías, popularly known as Alofoke, for the vice presidency.
Faced with questions from the press regarding this hypothetical electoral formula for the 2028 elections, the former president was emphatic in pointing out that the current moment is not conducive to addressing candidacy issues. According to Fernández, respect for the current legal framework is fundamental, as the electoral calendar does not yet allow for the formal start of campaign activities.

Focus on institutional growth
Beyond the names circulating in public opinion, the political leader preferred to focus on strengthening his organization.
