Ketel Marte targets his return with the Diamondbacks next week

The stellar Dominican second baseman, Ketel Marte, is nearing his return to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ lineup. According to recent statements by manager Torey Lovullo, the organization has designed a strategic plan to ensure the player returns to the field in optimal condition to face the final stretch of the Major League season.

Currently, the player is on the 10-day injured list after experiencing inflammation in his left knee. Medical studies, including an MRI performed in Phoenix, confirmed the discomfort that forced Marte to leave the game on August 14th against the Atlanta Braves.

A recovery process underway

As part of his treatment, the Dominican received an injection to reduce inflammation and is currently following a rehabilitation program at Salt River Fields, the franchise’s spring training complex. The goal is for him to be available to join the team early next week.

There is definitely a strategy to get him back on the field and healthy.

The recovery process has been under the media spotlight, especially after his stint on the MLB restricted list during the series against the Boston Red Sox. Faced with questions about his off-field activities during that period, Lovullo came to his player’s defense, emphasizing that Marte is an adult capable of making his own decisions and that at no point were team rules broken.
