Extreme heat and troughs: The weather forecast for this Thursday in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) has issued its daily report for this Thursday, highlighting a day marked by a hot environment and skies with grayish tones. This climatic condition is caused by the presence of Saharan dust particles affecting a large part of the national territory.
Despite the initial stability, the afternoon will bring significant changes due to the incidence of a trough at various levels of the troposphere. This meteorological phenomenon will favor the formation of cloudiness, leading to local downpours, thunderstorms, and isolated wind gusts.

It is expected that, by nightfall, the weather outlook will improve significantly, with the intensity of the rains decreasing and allowing for a clear, starry sky across most of the country.
High temperatures and stifling atmosphere
Temperatures will continue to reach high levels, with maximums that will be between 34 °C and 36 °C, while minimums will hover around 24 °C and 26 °C, maintaining a constant feeling of heat.
In Greater Santo Domingo, the behavior will be similar: sunny mornings with the characteristic grayish tone of Saharan dust, followed by afternoon cloud increases that will bring isolated showers and thunderstorms. This pattern will be replicated in Santo Domingo North, as well as in the West and East of the capital.
International meteorological surveillance
Regarding cyclonic activity, Indomet continues to monitor the remnants of what was tropical depression Edouard. Currently, these remains are located about 65 kilometers northwest of Dallas, Texas, in the United States, moving north-northwest with maximum sustained winds of 35 km/h.
Meteorological authorities have confirmed that, given its current location and trajectory, this system does not pose any type of danger or threat to the Dominican Republic.
