Juan Soto intensifies his recovery: The star outfielder aims for a key return with the Mets

Star outfielder Juan Soto took a positive step in his rehabilitation process this Friday at Citi Field. The Dominican was seen performing speed exercises and sprints in the outfield, showing favorable progress as he works to overcome the left calf strain that is keeping him out of action.

Although the organization has not yet defined an exact date for his reactivation from the injured list, the optimism is evident. Soto has expressed his firm intention to return to the field before the current Major League season concludes, seeking to contribute his talent in the final stretch of the schedule.

Focused on collective momentum

Beyond his personal recovery, Soto has closely followed the Mets’ recent performance, highlighting the good momentum the team is experiencing. The slugger does not hide his enthusiasm to rejoin a group that has shown a competitive side in its most recent commitments.

We are playing very good baseball right now. Why not try to rejoin this team? It would be fun. It would be something big for me and for the team. I want to finish the season strong and keep the momentum for next year as well.

A year of physical learning

The current campaign has been unusual for Soto in terms of health. After his last appearance on July 24th against the Dodgers, the player has had to deal with two calf injuries, an unprecedented challenge in his professional career. So far, the Dominican has recorded a .283 batting average, with 21 home runs and 52 RBIs in 84 games.

Soto acknowledges that this period of inactivity has been a mental challenge, but he accepts it as a necessary stage of growth for his future:

  • It is hard to miss so many games, I had never been in this situation before.
  • This experience teaches me to adjust my training and conditioning methods.
  • I must learn more about how my body works to prevent future complications and keep moving forward.

With 38 games lost to date, Soto’s goal is clear: to strengthen his physical preparation to regain his level of impact and finish the season with as much energy as possible, consolidating his role as a fundamental piece in the Mets’ structure.
