Ongoing investigation: Death of Andy Louissaint clarified
Dominican authorities are advancing in their investigations following the discovery of the lifeless body of 47-year-old Andy Louissaint, found on September 14th in the Herrera sector of Santo Domingo Oeste. Although the body was found in a concrete structure inside a commercial establishment, preliminary inquiries suggest that the deadly attack may have occurred at a different location within the National District.
The victim had been reported missing two days earlier, after leaving their residence to attend a meeting from which they never returned.
Arrests and progress in the case
Due to this incident, José Antonio Martínez Joseph, 41, and Juan Gabriel Marte Ramírez, 26, are in police custody. Both individuals are being interrogated to determine their level of responsibility in the event.
Martínez Joseph reportedly admitted to investigators that he had inflicted a stab wound on Louissaint. However, authorities have specified that said injury has not yet been confirmed as the direct cause of death.

The National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) is currently in charge of performing the corresponding autopsy. The results of this examination will be decisive in clarifying the exact circumstances of the death and confirming whether the wound admitted by the detainee was the determining factor.
As part of the proceedings to reconstruct the victim’s final moments, investigators have proceeded with the following actions:
- Seizure and analysis of six cell phones, including those of the victim.
- Inspection of three vehicles linked to the case to track the movements made.
- Review of the last contacts and meetings held by Louissaint before his disappearance.
About the motive for the crime
Although various versions have circulated in public opinion linking the crime to an alleged financial debt, investigative agencies have clarified that, so far, there is no official basis to support this hypothesis. The Public Prosecutor’s Office continues to work on collecting the necessary evidence to file formal charges and determine the criminal responsibility of each person involved before the courts.
