Dominican Republic sets power records in the 2026 Kids Caribbean Series
The Dominican Republic’s representation left an indelible mark on the recent edition of the 2026 Kids Caribbean Series in Nayarit. Although the Quisqueyano team could not take home the championship title, their offensive performance broke all molds, setting new power records by hitting a total of 19 home runs throughout six games.
The Dominican squad demonstrated superior batting ability, achieving 15 home runs during the qualifying phase and adding another four in the semifinal and final stages, consolidating itself as the most explosive team in the history of this youth competition.
A historic day against Puerto Rico
The peak moment of this display of strength occurred on August 13 against Puerto Rico. In a matchup that ended in a 17-7 Dominican victory, the team hit seven home runs in a single game, an unprecedented figure in this tournament. The offense started early with back-to-back home runs by Yemmy Marrero and Nolbis Marcos, followed by a blast from Germán Paulino in the very first inning.
Isaac Brito’s performance was the highlight of the tournament, becoming the first player to hit three home runs in a single Kids Caribbean Series game and driving in seven runs in the same game.
In addition to Brito’s outstanding performance, Jadiel Medina also joined the hitting party, adding the seventh home run of that historic day for the Dominican delegation.
