Modernization and technology in Customs
During his speech at the business breakfast of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic, Arroyo emphasized that the institution is immersed in a digital transformation process. The main project consists of integrating artificial intelligence into the risk management engine, allowing for a transition toward a strategic and anticipatory model.
This technology will allow Customs:
- Improve merchandise valuation processes.
- Identify atypical patterns and detect anomalies in real time.
- Optimize cargo profiling for more precise oversight.
- Strengthen the control of tax obligations.
Real-time supervision and port control
As part of the new control measures, the Customs administration is implementing a system to monitor inspections at national ports directly from headquarters. This initiative seeks to ensure that operators follow established protocols, combining the agility necessary for trade with high standards of security and surveillance.
The event was attended by prominent figures from the national productive sector and government authorities, including the president of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic, Julio Brache, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco.
