Francisco Domínguez Brito presents ambitious reform plan for the PLD
In his recent participation in the RD Debate space, the presidential hopeful for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Francisco Domínguez Brito, outlined a series of strategic proposals focused on transforming the pillars of security, health, and justice in the Dominican Republic. The meeting, which served as a stage to contrast the visions of the PLD pre-candidates, featured the presence of Francisco Javier García, Luis de León, and Manfred Mata.
Citizen security and police transformation
Domínguez Brito emphasized the need to modernize the National Police. As a former attorney general, the political leader advocated for strengthening criminal investigation through the advanced use of intelligence and the constant professionalization of agents. Among his main measures, he highlights the implementation of mandatory performance evaluations and more rigorous entry processes to guarantee the integrity of the institution.
The fight against crime must be based on solid investigations that allow for the identification of those responsible, supported by compelling evidence and effective internal oversight.
Priority in preventive medicine and mental health
In the healthcare sector, the candidate’s proposal moves away from the traditional curative model to focus on prevention. Domínguez Brito proposes a health system that strengthens the role of the family doctor, especially for the control of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, ensuring that patients maintain strict monitoring of their treatments and lifestyle habits.

Streamlining the judicial system
Finally, Domínguez Brito pointed out that the Dominican judicial system requires urgent intervention to reduce procedural backlog. His proposal includes the simplification of procedures and the possibility of moving certain civil proceedings out of the ordinary judicial path to decongest the courts.
The central objective, according to the leader, is to modify the procedural stages that currently delay rulings, ensuring that the citizen can obtain quick and efficient responses from the State. These ideas are part of his campaign platform, with which he seeks to head the PLD presidential ticket in the upcoming elections.
