DIGESETT reinforces road safety in Azua with the citizen dialogue program
The General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (DIGESETT) carried out a workday in the province of Azua under the “DIGESETT Listens” scheme. The fundamental purpose of this meeting was to identify the critical challenges facing urban mobility and establish joint strategies to raise road safety standards in the area.
The event was led by General Pascual Cruz Méndez, general director of the entity, who was accompanied by the provincial governor, María Minerva Navarro. The presence of local authorities underscores the institutions’ commitment to strengthening ties with community members and addressing the needs of the transport sector firsthand.
Active participation to improve mobility
During the day, residents and representatives from various sectors of Azua expressed their concerns regarding traffic flow and critical points that require immediate intervention. The main objective was to collect valuable information to design preventive solutions that help mitigate traffic accidents on the province’s public roads.
Among the key points addressed during the activity, the following stand out:
- The identification of high-risk areas for pedestrians and drivers.
- The search for technical alternatives to streamline vehicular traffic.
- The strengthening of road safety education through direct exchange with citizens.
The “DIGESETT Listens” initiative is consolidated as a strategic space for the public to raise their complaints and suggestions, allowing for more efficient management that is closer to the reality of the communities.
The meeting was also attended by Wendy Zapata, representative of the Complaints Directorate of the Ministry of Interior and Police, along with other officials and community leaders who supported the initiative. Through this program, DIGESETT reaffirms its intention to foster a culture of citizen participation, where collaboration between authorities and the public is the fundamental pillar for positively transforming traffic throughout the national territory.
