Construction of the Los Indios bridge in Azua begins: a historic step for regional connectivity
The province of Azua celebrates the formal start of the construction of the Los Indios bridge, a long-awaited infrastructure that promises to transform the social and economic dynamics of Padre Las Casas and its surrounding areas. This project, which has finally taken its first step, responds to a historic demand from residents who for decades had faced difficulties in land communication.
The project will not only facilitate transit, but will also serve as a strategic axis of territorial integration between the municipalities of Padre Las Casas, Bohechío, and Guayabal. Likewise, it will directly benefit the municipal districts of Los Fríos, Las Lagunas, La Siembra, and Arroyo Cano, connecting thousands of citizens who depend on this route for their daily work, access to educational centers, and the transport of essential services.
Boosting agricultural and economic development
During the commencement ceremony for the works, the senator for Azua, Lía Díaz, highlighted the relevance of this project for the local productive sector. Local farmers, who faced significant logistical challenges in getting their harvests to major markets, see this bridge as an opportunity to strengthen their commercial capacity and improve their income.
