Modernization works advance at the Las Galeras Diagnostic Center
The deputy for the province of Samaná, Cecilio García, popularly known as Pimpe, carried out a supervision visit at the facilities of the new Diagnostic Center of Las Galeras. During his tour, the legislator verified the significant progress in the remodeling and adaptation of the structure that previously functioned as a polyclinic, now transforming it into a modern and functional medical center.
This project represents a milestone for the community, as it allows for the recovery of an infrastructure that remained inactive for a considerable time due to its deterioration. With this intervention, the space is prepared to offer quality health services and specialized diagnostic studies, reducing the need for local residents to travel to other municipalities to receive medical care.
A joint effort for health in Samaná
The materialization of this work is the result of a close collaboration between various authorities and State agencies. Among the key actors that have promoted this initiative are:
- The National Directorate of the National Health Service (SNS).
- The Regional Directorate of the SNS.
- The office of Deputy Cecilio García.
- The municipal administration of Mayor Ana Reyes.
- The Civil Governorate of Samaná, headed by Teodora Mullix.
The commissioning of this center is a direct response to the needs of the families of Las Galeras, who for years requested the recovery of these facilities to strengthen the local health system.
Currently, civil infrastructure works are in their final phase. The next stage of the project will focus on the installation of the technical and medical equipment necessary to guarantee efficient care. Once this process is completed, the center will be ready to open its doors to the public, marking a turning point in local healthcare and fulfilling the commitment to bring health services to the entire population of Samaná.
