Coercive measure postponed for three Colombian citizens accused of robbery by sedation

The Dominican justice system has rescheduled for next Tuesday the coercive measure hearing against two women and one man of Colombian nationality, who face serious accusations by the Public Prosecutor’s Office related to a series of robberies carried out under a criminal method that involves the use of sedative substances.

The defendants, identified as Natali Valeria Castillo González, Laura Valentina Villegas Villafaña, and Diego Armando González, were captured following a raid operation carried out by authorities at an apartment located in the Arrecifes del Sol residential complex, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este.

Modus operandi and details of the accusation

According to the preliminary investigation presented by the prosecution, the group operated by sedating their victims to nullify their ability to react and facilitate the theft of their personal belongings. Among the stolen items, the authorities highlight the following elements:

  • Cash.
  • Garments and valuables.
  • Credit and debit cards.
  • Cell phones.
  • Various personal use items.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office continues to deepen investigations to clarify with precision the circumstances under which these events were carried out and to determine the individual responsibility of each of those involved in the criminal network.

Although the hearing was originally scheduled for this Saturday, the court decided to postpone it to Tuesday, the date on which the request for pretrial detention filed by the prosecution against the three foreign citizens will be evaluated. The case remains under a strict investigation process to ensure that the corresponding sanctions are applied in accordance with the law.
