Dominican talent on the rise: Só Danza in Motion awards 55 international scholarships

The Só Danza in Motion Dominican Republic program successfully concluded its training sessions, consolidating itself as a key platform for artistic development in the country. With the support of the Ministry of Culture and the General Directorate of Fine Arts, this initiative managed to benefit 55 young talents with international scholarships, designed to raise their technical level and open doors in the competitive world of global dance.

A tour of national talent

The event, which brought together about 180 students, was divided into two fundamental stages. The first took place from August 3 to 5 at the National School of Dance (ENDANZA) in Santo Domingo, while the second took place between August 7 and 9 at the School of Fine Arts in Santiago de los Caballeros.

  • Santo Domingo: 30 scholarships were awarded, of which 25 were allocated to ENDANZA students. The support includes intensive and annual courses, with coverage reaching up to 100% of the costs.
  • Santiago de los Caballeros: 25 additional scholarships were granted, with 10 of them covering the entirety of the international training.

In addition to direct financial support, the academies in Santiago received special benefits, such as a 50% discount to participate in the organization’s international events in Brazil or Italy, thus fostering the global projection of local teaching centers.

For a dancer, training should not be limited to the local reality; it is essential to have the opportunity to travel, study in other countries, and share with students and professionals from different artistic backgrounds.

Só Danza Executives

Beyond scholarships

The program’s impact transcends the delivery of financial incentives. The organizers highlighted that the main objective is to weave networks that connect Dominican dancers with the international circuit. As part of the pending incentives, a round-trip airline ticket will be awarded, courtesy of the airline Neos, the winner of which will be announced soon after the evaluation by the master instructors.

Likewise, the door has been opened for all participating students, even those who did not obtain a scholarship in this edition, to access international events. This coordination will be carried out directly with the academy directors, ensuring that each dancer finds the training path that best suits their profile and professional aspirations.
