During the meeting, the roadmap that will govern the upcoming institutional processes and the international commitments of Dominican sports was unanimously approved.
Electoral commission defined
One of the most relevant points was the formation of the electoral commission that will oversee the elections to choose the new executive committee. The assembly members supported the proposal composed of figures with extensive experience in the national sports field:
- Doctor Dionisio Guzmán, who will chair the commission.
- Jorge Torres, former president of the Association of Sports Journalists of Santo Domingo (ACDSD).
- Rafael Villalona, distinguished member of the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame.
It was established that the electoral process will take place next Wednesday, December 2nd. Likewise, the commission was authorized to hire the necessary legal advice to guarantee transparency and compliance with the statutes throughout the process.
Projections for 2027
The president of the COD, engineer Garibaldy Bautista, presented and obtained approval for the program of activities and the projected budget for the year 2027. Among the highlights for that period are the organization of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) assembly in Dominican territory and the national delegation that will represent the country at the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.
Strategic planning for 2027 is vital to maintain our nation’s positioning on the global sports map, fulfilling international commitments and strengthening our internal structure.
