Promoting technological vocations in girls from Azua during a special event
The Regional Directorate of Education 03, based in Azua, commemorated the International Girls in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Day. The main objective of the event was to encourage the active participation of girls and adolescents in STEAM disciplines, which encompass science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
This initiative seeks to close the gender gap in the technology sector by providing tools that strengthen students’ digital skills. Through this meeting, educational authorities aim to spark early vocations toward innovation and the development of new technologies in the region.
Commitment to digital education
The regional deputy director of Education, Luis Gregorio Sánchez, led the opening of the event, highlighting the need to create educational environments where girls can enhance their capabilities. According to Sánchez, fostering these spaces is fundamental to ensuring that new generations have greater opportunities in an increasingly digitized labor market.
