COD Assembly approves electoral commission and activity calendar for 2027
The Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) held a key assembly with the participation of national sports federations, reaching a unanimous consensus on fundamental points for the future of the institution. During the meeting, held in the Juan Ulises García Saleta Hall, the commission that will be in charge of the organization’s electoral process was made official.
The electoral commission was formally integrated by Dr. Dionisio Guzmán, who will preside over the body, accompanied by Jorge Torres and sports immortal Rafael Villalona. The assembly members granted full authority to this group to appoint the necessary legal counsel to ensure the transparency and proper development of the elections, scheduled for next Wednesday, December 2nd.

The president of the COD, engineer Garibaldy Bautista, took advantage of the day to present the budget and the ambitious program of activities planned for the year 2027. Among the most prominent events, Bautista emphasized the importance of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) assembly that will be hosted by the country, as well as the commitment of the Dominican delegation to the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.
The approval of the budget and the roadmap for 2027 mark a decisive step in our vision to strengthen Dominican sports on the international stage.

Recognition of the Santo Domingo 2026 medalists
As part of the initiatives to support national talent, the head of the COD announced a special reception in honor of the athletes who reached the podium at the past XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. The event is scheduled for this Friday starting at 11:00 in the morning at the Ministry of Defense facilities.
Not only the medalists have been invited to this celebration, but also the multidisciplinary team that made these achievements possible, including coaches, physiotherapists, and representatives of the sports federations that were part of the national delegation.
