Start of the substantive trial in the Chameleon case postponed to October
The Third Collegiate Court of the National District ordered the postponement of the trial on the merits corresponding to the Chameleon case, a judicial process investigating an alleged administrative corruption network within the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant). The hearing, which was scheduled to begin this Tuesday, has been rescheduled for October 13th.
The magistrates’ decision was motivated by the state of health of one of the defendants, Emanuel Eduardo Mora Vázquez. Due to this medical situation, the court considered it necessary to postpone the start of deliberations to guarantee due process and the presence of all parties involved in the courtroom.
Details of the judicial process
The Chameleon case has generated great expectation, as the Public Prosecutor’s Office seeks to present to the court the evidence collected regarding the irregularities detected in the management of contracts and technological services at Intrant. Among the key points that will be addressed in the upcoming sessions are:
- The evaluation of the evidentiary elements presented by the prosecuting body.
- The determination of the individual responsibilities of those involved in the alleged corruption scheme.
