Nayib Bukele inaugurates modern infrastructure and education works in Ahuachapán
Within the framework of the Independence Day celebration, the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, officially delivered the total renovation of a 15.14-kilometer road and the new Los Toles School Center, located in the department of Ahuachapán. These works represent the fulfillment of a commitment made by the president a year ago to the local community.
Exactly one year ago we made a promise and today we are here saying: Mission accomplished.

Road impact and regional development
The road project, which was originally planned for eight kilometers, was expanded after listening to the needs of the inhabitants of various cantons and hamlets. The new road not only improves connectivity but also significantly optimizes travel times:
- Reduction in travel time: From an hour and a half to just 15 minutes.
- Logistical benefits: Facilitates the transport of agricultural products such as corn, beans, and livestock.
- Access to services: Improves connection to health centers and commercial areas.
- Future vision: A possible border connection with Guatemala is being considered to boost trade and tourism.
Cutting-edge education for childhood
The construction of Los Toles School Center was a key addition to the area’s development plan. The modern educational infrastructure includes fundamental areas for the learning and well-being of the students:
- Classrooms equipped for all academic levels.
- Modern kitchen and dining room.
- Recreational spaces, playgrounds, and early childhood areas.
During the event, President Bukele instructed educational authorities to equip the school with state-of-the-art technological tools, including internet connection, computers, and Artificial Intelligence-based tutors. Likewise, he reaffirmed that students will be guaranteed scholarships to pursue higher education upon completing their high school studies.
The president highlighted the radical change the community has experienced, recalling that while the previous year the patriotic parades were held on dirt and mud streets, on this occasion the students were able to celebrate their independence on top-tier infrastructure.
