Bonao will host the 2026 LIBEVE All-Star Game

The National Summer Baseball League (LIBEVE) has confirmed that the 2026 edition of its highly anticipated All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, September 5th. The venue chosen for this display of talent is the Bebecito del Villar Stadium, located in Bonao, Monseñor Nouel province, home of the Mineros de Bonao.

This event, which brings together the most outstanding players from both divisions, will formally begin at 4:00 PM with the traditional Home Run Derby, subsequently giving way to the star matchup between the North-South and North-Central teams.

It is the second year that we are committed to having a great All-Star Game, a way to showcase all our players who have given their all in an incredible season, where we have had eight teams nationwide. It will be a great show together with the fans of Bonao.

Pitching duels and stellar lineups

The excitement on the mound is guaranteed, as a high-level starting pitching duel has been announced: Jhon Henríquez (RHP) will take the mound for the North-South Division, while veteran Raúl Valdés (LHP) will be in charge of starting for the North-Central Division.

The starting lineups reflect the competitive quality of this season:

  • North-South Division: Yuli Vitinni (C), Carlos Franco (1B), Michael De León (2B), Omar Meregildo (3B), Alex Reyes (SS), along with outfielders Diego Hernández, Christopher Familia, Brayan González, and designated hitter Junior Sanquintín.
  • North-Central Division: Deury Ramos (C), Jhailyn Ortiz (1B), Yeison Coca (2B), Jean Pérez (3B), Armando Cruz (SS), with Alejandro Comperez, Noel Chevalier, Jorge Peralta in the outfield, and Tony Peña as designated hitter.

The league’s technical management is working intensely on the final details to ensure a top-tier event. The game will be broadcast nationwide through the VTV Channel 32 signal. The initiative is supported by the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), the Ministry of the Presidency, and the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI).

The debate has gained momentum due to the participation of eight legislators with declared interests in the betting and lottery sector. While no irregularity has been proven, the presence of congressmen linked to these companies in the legislative process raises questions about potential conflicts of interest. The project also introduces significant changes to the market, such as the reduction of tax rates for electronic lotteries and a ten-year ban on the issuance of new licenses, which would favor those who manage to regularize themselves under the new registry. Given this scenario, various sectors are demanding greater transparency regarding who drafted the controversial article 192, the actual fiscal impact for the State, and the identity of the final beneficiaries of these tax facilities.
