Tragic outcome: Relatives receive remains of Albert Aracena after 20 days of searching
After two weeks of intense uncertainty and anguish, the relatives of 32-year-old Albert Aracena were finally able to receive his mortal remains this Wednesday. The young man’s body was found lifeless in a wooded area of the La Chancleta community in Moca, putting an end to a 20-day period of desperate searching.
The remains were handed over to their relatives after completing the autopsy process at the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in Santiago. Subsequently, the body was transported to the municipality of Cayetano Germosén, in the Espaillat province, where their loved ones will bid them a final farewell in a Christian burial ceremony.
Justice and clarification: The family’s petition
Although the recovery of the body represents a partial relief in the face of the tragedy, the Aracena family has made it clear that their fight does not end here. The current priority is for the authorities to deepen the investigations to determine with precision the circumstances of their death and to clarify if there are those responsible involved in this event.

For their part, relatives and neighbors have highlighted Albert’s human quality, remembering him as a hardworking man dedicated to carpentry. Carmen Taveras, a close friend of the family, called for caution and to avoid speculation while the Public Prosecutor’s Office and investigative bodies proceed with the corresponding legal procedures.

The family extended their gratitude to the neighbors and community members who remained steadfast in their support during the 20 days the disappearance lasted. The community of Cayetano Germosén is preparing to hold the wake for Aracena’s remains, in an atmosphere of deep sorrow but with the firm demand that justice be served in this case that has shocked the entire province.
