“Because I Love You” campaign reaches 12 years transforming preventive health in Santiago

The “Because I Love You” initiative, promoted by the Santiago Free Trade Zone Corporation (CZFS) and MĒDICA, celebrates its twelfth edition, consolidating itself as a fundamental pillar in the early detection of breast cancer in the Dominican workplace. With a track record exceeding 21,600 free studies, the program marks a milestone this year by integrating cutting-edge technology to improve the experience of the beneficiaries.

Lía: Digital innovation at the service of prevention

The great novelty of this edition is the presentation of Lía, a virtual assistant and digital wellness guide designed to accompany women at every stage of their medical process. This tool seeks to offer constant guidance, facilitating access to vital information and providing emotional and logistical support beyond the performance of clinical studies.

For the Santiago Free Trade Zone Corporation, talking about development is talking about people, their well-being, and their health.

Commitment to workplace well-being

The project, which directly benefits the workers of the WTC-Santiago Free Trade Zone and their families, projects an ambitious goal for 2026: to serve 135 women daily, which translates to nearly 675 consultations per week. This continued effort seeks to eliminate the time and access barriers that often prevent women from prioritizing their preventive health.

Results and institutional support

During the 2025 session, the program managed to perform more than 3,000 mammograms and breast ultrasounds. Miguel Andrés Lama Capellán, representing the MĒDICA Board of Directors, emphasized that the success of the campaign lies in the strategic coordination between the industrial park companies and the medical staff, ensuring an environment of trust and high technical specialization.

The importance of this work is supported by global statistics, which place timely diagnosis as the most effective tool for reducing breast cancer mortality. The twelfth edition of “Porque Te Quiero” has the support of important strategic allies, among which the following stand out:

  • Gold Category: ARS Futuro and Hotel Santiago.
  • Silver Category: AFP Popular, ARS Monumental, ARS Primera and Global B.
  • Allies: AFP Crecer, ARS Universal, Tadug and Ennova.

Throughout this decade and two years of uninterrupted work, the campaign has not only provided medical exams, but has also fostered a culture of self-care that transcends the walls of companies, positively impacting the quality of life of thousands of Dominican families.
