Monte Plata: Historic paving begins in the El Chacaro community after decades of waiting
The community of El Chacaro, located in the Mamá Tingó municipal district of the Monte Plata province, has finally seen the start of paving work on its main roads. This project, which puts an end to a wait of more than 45 years, seeks to transform the quality of life for residents and optimize traffic in this rural area.
Mayor Franklin Trinidad, popularly known as “El Varón,” detailed that this first phase of the project covers a 2.5-kilometer stretch. The strategic intervention will cover the route from the Río Arriba school, extending to the El Chacaro local clinic and the bridge over the El Capa river.
A forward-looking project
According to the municipal executive, the planning does not end with this first stage. A plan has been structured for a second phase that will allow the paving to be extended to the Maimón community, thus strengthening the road connectivity of the entire municipal district.
The start of these works is the result of a joint effort with the central government and provincial authorities. We thank President Luis Abinader, the Ministry of Public Works, and Governor Rafaela Javier Gomera for listening to this historic demand of our people.
