Dominican Republic Army strengthens its infrastructure with the delivery of new detachments
In a continuous effort to dignify the work of its soldiers and optimize the institution’s operational capabilities, Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez, Commanding General of the Dominican Republic Army, led the official handover of the El Higuerito detachments in Elías Piña, and Navarrete in Santiago. Both facilities underwent a rigorous remodeling and renovation process.
These improvements are part of a strategic program to strengthen military infrastructure promoted by the Army, with the goal of ensuring that the personnel guarding national sovereignty have modern and functional facilities.
Modernization details
The comprehensive rehabilitation project covered various critical areas for the well-being of the uniformed personnel. Among the interventions carried out, the following stand out:
- Complete adaptation of accommodation areas, kitchens, and dining rooms.
- Optimization of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Roof waterproofing and general painting work.
- Improvement of lighting and conditioning of outdoor spaces.
- Provision of new furniture to improve the quality of life in the units.
Authorities present at the deliveries
The delivery of these works featured the participation of high-ranking military officials and representatives of local communities. At the Navarrete detachment, the commanding general was accompanied by Colonel Geraldo Alberto Cruz Salazar, commander of the 2nd Infantry Brigade, along with Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Manuel Ovalle Rodríguez and municipal authorities of Villa Bisonó.
For its part, at the El Higuerito post, located in the municipality of Bánica, the event was attended by Colonel Domingo Cruz Sosa, commander of the 3rd Infantry Brigade, Colonel Cristian Pérez Feliz, the director of the Sabana Higuero municipal district, Manuel Céspedes, and Yascar Ramírez representing the provincial government of Elías Piña.
These interventions are fundamental to strengthening our operational capabilities, ensuring that every member of the Army performs their defense and security duties under optimal and dignified conditions.
