Antigua Orden movement mobilizes in Moca demanding stricter immigration controls
The municipality of Moca, Espaillat province, was the scene of a demonstration led by the Antigua Orden movement this Sunday. Under the leadership of Ángelo Vásquez, hundreds of citizens gathered to express their frontal rejection of what they have termed the “haitianization” of the Dominican Republic, demanding a much stricter and more effective immigration policy from the authorities.
During the march, participants chanted slogans demanding the departure of Haitian citizens from national territory. The mobilization, which traveled through central points of the city, sought to make visible the discontent of a sector of the population regarding irregular migration.
Reasons behind the protest in Moca
Ángelo Vásquez, leader of the organization, emphasized that the choice of Moca as the venue for this event was no coincidence. According to the leader, the community has been recently impacted by violent acts, specifically citing the murder of a local farmer, an event he attributed to citizens of Haitian nationality.

During his speech, the representative of Antigua Orden launched strong criticisms towards the various political sectors of the country. Vásquez asserted that, over the last decades, the political class has allowed an uncontrolled increase in Haitian immigration, which, in his view, puts national sovereignty at risk.
The choice of Duarte Park as a meeting point was justified by the group as an act of patriotic symbolism, considering this space a fundamental pillar in the history of Dominican sovereignty. The movement has reiterated that it will continue with these types of gatherings in different parts of the national territory, maintaining its firm stance in defense of what they consider the values and security of the nation.
