ANAKA-O-NA: The successful play begins its long-awaited tour of the northeast in 2026
After winning over audiences and critics for two consecutive seasons at the National Theater of Santo Domingo, the acclaimed theatrical production ANAKA-O-NA, Alba y Ocaso, is preparing to bring its historical and cultural proposal to the northeastern region of the country. The firms Talassa Teatro and Nileny Dippton Productions officially confirmed the schedule for this tour, which seeks to decentralize high-format art.
The piece, written by architect Cristian Martínez Villanueva, is a tribute to Taíno memory and a recovery of our pre-Hispanic identity. Under the direction of the award-winning Fausto Rojas, the work stands out for its historical rigor and aesthetic quality, focusing its narrative on the leadership and courage of the historical figure of Anacaona.

2026 Northeast Tour Details
The tour will visit strategic points in the region, with the support of local academic and cultural authorities:
- San Francisco de Macorís: The performances will take place at the Teatro Regional del Nordeste (UCNE Campus) on September 17th and 18th. The first show will be at 11:30 A.M. and the second at 4:00 P.M.
- Nagua: The closing ceremony will be on Saturday, September 19th at 6:30 P.M., with a special gala at the UASD Centro Nagua Auditorium.
The cast, which promises an international standard, is led by actress Nileny Dippton, awarded Theater Actress of the Year at the 2024 Soberano Awards, alongside guest actress Nefer Galaxia. It is estimated that the tour will impact more than 1,500 spectators, including students and cultural managers in the area.
This ambitious cultural project is supported by various institutions, including the Ministry of Culture, the Universidad Católica Nordestana (UCNE), and the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) Nagua Center, reaffirming its value as an essential educational tool for new generations.
