After a thorough evaluation and much deliberation, eight sports journalists and eight athletes whose respective performances reached excellence in their professional and athletic roles during the year 2025 will be awarded for the occasion.

Special recognitions for career and management

In addition to the competitive categories, the ACD Executive Council has decided to grant special recognitions to three outstanding figures in the journalistic and sports fields:

  • Osvaldo Rodríguez Suncar and Gustavo Rodríguez Diloné: They will be honored for their exemplary careers, spanning more than four decades of uninterrupted work in sports journalism.
  • José P. Monegro: He will receive a distinction for his leadership as president of the Organizing Committee for the Central American and Caribbean Games held in the country.

The event will feature a special artistic touch, as maestro Ramón Orlando Valoy will be in charge of the musical portion, also celebrating his 50-year career in popular art.

Founded on March 9, 1929, the ACDSD reaffirms with this award its historical commitment to valuing and projecting the work of those who drive Dominican sports from the chronicle and the playing field.
