Road accident on the Duarte highway: Motorcyclist hits a Comipol unit in Bonao

A traffic accident was recently recorded at kilometer 96 of the Duarte highway, as it passes through the municipality of Bonao, Monseñor Nouel province. The incident involved a citizen of Haitian nationality and an official vehicle belonging to the Military and Police Commission (Comipol) of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

The citizen identified as Cronet Medit, 26 years old, crashed his Gato 150 brand motorcycle into the rear of a roadside assistance unit, which bore the license plate CA-1578. After the impact, the young man sustained injuries that left him lying on the pavement, requiring the intervention of the authorities present in the area.

Irregularities in the documentation

After carrying out the appropriate checks, traffic and security agents determined that Medit did not have personal identification documents. Likewise, it was reported that the motorcycle he was traveling on lacked a license plate and that the documentation presented for the vehicle did not correspond to the motorized unit he was driving at that time.

The competent authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to clarify the exact circumstances under which this road accident occurred and to proceed with the corresponding legal responsibilities.

The Alofoke Deportes team will continue to follow up on this case as the authorities advance in the investigation process to determine the legal status of the foreign citizen and the technical details that led to the crash on one of the country’s busiest roads.
