Banco Promerica boosts economic development at the 2nd International Investment and Nearshoring Forum

Santo Domingo became the epicenter of the strategic dialogue on the country’s economic future with the celebration of the 2nd International Investment and Nearshoring Forum, organized by Banco Promerica Dominican Republic. This high-level event brought together government authorities, foreign investors, and business leaders to analyze the global trends that are transforming manufacturing and value chains.

The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, along with key figures such as Minister Víctor Bisonó; the Chairman and CEO of Grupo Promerica, Ramiro Ortiz Mayorga; and the Executive President of Banco Promerica Dominican Republic, Carlos Julio Camilo. During the meeting, the country’s ability to position itself as a competitive destination in the current global environment was highlighted.

The Dominican Republic has demonstrated that it can compete on the global stage. Today, investment goes beyond geographical location; investors are looking for competitive ecosystems that integrate talent, innovation, and infrastructure, and this forum is the ideal space to generate those strategic connections.

World-class experts shared their perspectives on industrial innovation, while delegations from countries like Costa Rica presented their successful experiences in diversifying value-added services.

  • Local vision: Leaders from the Dominican industrial sector, including representatives from ADOZONA and the Corporación Zona Franca Santiago, discussed the challenges to boost national productive capacity.
  • Keynote speech: Stanford University expert Rebeca Hwang closed the event with a talk on how to strengthen the country’s technological competitiveness.

This second edition of the forum reaffirms the commitment of Banco Promerica, an entity with more than 26 years of local experience and a presence in nine countries, to strengthen the business platform in the Dominican Republic.
