Abadina honors basketball legends on the 50th anniversary of the TBS Distrito

In an act filled with history and emotion, the National District Basketball Association (Abadina) paid a well-deserved tribute to the most emblematic figures who have forged the path of the sport of hoops and balls in the Dominican Republic. During the celebration of the 50th Superior Basketball Tournament (TBS Distrito 2026), the entity presented accreditations and lifetime passes to Immortals of Sport, Old Glories, and prominent promoters.

The ceremony, held on the front esplanade of the Arena BanReservas Profesor Virgilio Travieso Soto, marked a milestone by granting permanent access to the great icons of national basketball. Immortals Teresa Durán and Vinicio Muñoz led the group of honorees by receiving their accreditations, a gesture that symbolizes the institution’s gratitude for their incalculable contributions to the sport.

A tribute to golden generations

The list of distinguished figures included basketball players who left an indelible mark on the superior district championship across different eras. Among those recognized are:

  • Alberto Ozuna (Cebollita)
