Aaron Judge resumes training and makes progress in his recovery with the Yankees
New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has reached a significant milestone in his rehabilitation process. The star outfielder has returned to tee work, marking his first contact with the bat since late May, news that has New York fans excited.
According to manager Aaron Boone, the player has completed this activity over the last two days, showing favorable results in his physical progress. Judge is currently out of action due to a stress fracture in his first right rib, an injury that originated after a defensive effort on April 26 in Houston, but which allowed him to continue playing until the end of May before being sidelined.
Constant progress in rehabilitation
In addition to resuming contact with the bat, the medical team has authorized the slugger to perform additional work to accelerate his preparation. Among the permitted activities are:
- Exercises to loosen up the arm.
- Outdoor running sessions.
- Resistance training focused on the upper body.
Although the Yankees have not set a specific date for his return, the team expects to have Judge back during the current season, although his return before September seems unlikely.
Before entering the injured list, the three-time American League Most Valuable Player was maintaining an outstanding performance. In 59 games played, Judge accumulated a .248 batting average, with a .375 on-base percentage and a .533 slugging percentage. His offensive contribution was complemented by 17 home runs and 38 runs batted in, numbers that the Yankees hope to recover for the final stretch of the campaign.
