Boosting young talent: 160 students complete cutting-edge technological training
In an event that marks a milestone for the digital future of the Dominican Republic, a group of 160 young people successfully completed the Technological Development Program: Future Entrepreneurs 2026. The ceremony, held at the PUCMM Health Sciences Auditorium in Santiago, celebrated the culmination of the 14th edition of this initiative led by the Center for Innovation and Professional Training (CAPEX).
During 240 hours of intensive training, participants specialized in critical areas for today’s economy, such as application development, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity fundamentals, preparing themselves for the challenges of Industry 4.0.
Technology as a driver of transformation
Miguel Lama Rodríguez, president of the Foundation for Education, Training and Innovation (FUNCAPEX), highlighted the historical impact of the program. Since its creation 15 years ago, this initiative has managed to train 2,080 young people, consolidating itself as a seedbed for personal and national transformation.

The event featured the participation of various authorities who reaffirmed their support for technical education. Luis Manuel Rodríguez, Deputy General Director of INFOTEP, underscored the importance of aligning academic training with the real demands of the labor market, emphasizing that commitment and excellence are the pillars that will allow these young people to lead in the digital environment.
For her part, María Aurelia Fernández, regional manager of AFP Siembra, congratulated the graduates and highlighted the relevance of ethics in the use of new technologies:
- Development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Mastery of artificial intelligence tools applied to entrepreneurship.
- Awareness of cybersecurity in a globalized environment.
The voice of the protagonists
Justin José Santana, representing the graduates, shared his experience during the training process, highlighting that beyond the technique, the program fostered curiosity and social responsibility. For Santana and his peers, this stage represents the starting point to undertake projects that generate a positive impact in their communities.
The day concluded with the presentation of awards to the graduates, who now join the country’s technological ecosystem with the necessary skills to turn innovative ideas into realities that drive the nation’s economic development.
