Ten minors rescued from illegal center in Haina following CONANI operation
The National Council for Children and Adolescents (CONANI) confirmed that ten minors, who were in irregular conditions within an establishment called “Fundación Restaurando Vidas, un Muerto que Revive” (Restoring Lives Foundation, a Dead Man Who Revives) in Haina, have been transferred to the National Protection System to ensure their well-being.
The intervention, carried out last Sunday, allowed for the identification of a total of 14 children and adolescents aged between three months and 13 years. While four of them were returned to their family units after the necessary evaluations, the remaining group remains under the guardianship and care of the competent authorities.
Research on the foundation’s operation
The authorities have made it clear that the center was operating without the proper legal authorization required for Non-Profit Associations (ASFL) that work with the childhood and adolescence sector. Currently, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is leading an investigation to clarify the conditions in which the minors lived and the type of treatment received at said place.
This case is not an isolated incident, as the establishment had been intervened previously in September 2025. On that occasion, after detecting irregularities, the minors were reintegrated with their families and the authorities were notified about the lack of permits to operate as a childcare or residential care center.
CONANI reaffirms its commitment to continue acting in a coordinated manner with the institutions that make up the National Protection System to guarantee a timely response to any situation that threatens or violates the rights of children and adolescents.

Following the rescue, the minors are undergoing a rigorous medical and psychological evaluation process to determine their physical and emotional state. These actions are part of the comprehensive protection protocol that seeks to ensure the recovery and stability of the children.
