Blaney Wins in a Thrilling Finish
Blaney, starting from the 13th position with only two laps remaining, demonstrated his skill behind the wheel of his Team Penske Ford, managing to advance to the first position and cross the finish line. The margin of victory was minimal, surpassing Daniel Suarez by 0.031 seconds, Justin Haley by 0.036 seconds, and Cole Custer by 0.049 seconds.Erik Jones and Chris Buescher rounded out the top five. The drivers behind Blaney were looking for their first win of the season, which would have guaranteed them a spot in the playoffs.
Suarez and Haley, who could be leaving their teams at the end of the season, expressed their disappointment at not qualifying for the playoffs.Buescher, for his part, regretted not having achieved a place in the playoffs. It was a couple of wild last laps. Not the traditional way we like to run, leading laps and things like that. We just couldn’t quite get to the last second.

Blaney’s victory continues Team Penske’s tradition of success, which has won the last three Cup Series championships. This victory also snapped an 11-race winless streak for Penske and Ford.I’m proud of this team. We had a great night. We certainly had an opportunity and we had the speed again, so I want to be excited about that, and I am, but man, it’s just another one of those where we had the ability to win this race, we had the speed, we had the handling, and there’s no champagne to celebrate.
