Twins Send Simeon Woods Richardson to Triple-A

BALTIMORE – The in-form Minnesota Twins have decided to send pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson to Triple-A St. Paul this Thursday.

This decision comes one day after the right-handed pitcher allowed six runs and eight hits in four innings during the second game of a doubleheader against Baltimore. Despite Woods Richardson’s performance, the Twins managed to come back to extend their winning streak to 10 consecutive games.

Woods Richardson, 24, is 2-2 with a 5.02 ERA in eight games (seven starts) with the Twins. He has struggled to maintain his performance during the final innings of games, failing to complete six innings this season. Opposing hitters are batting .295 against him, and left-handed hitters are hitting .342.

Kody Funderburk, left-handed reliever, will take Woods Richardson’s spot on the roster. Funderburk acted as the 27th player during the doubleheader and pitched 1 1/3 innings without allowing runs in relief of Woods Richardson in Game 2.
